Options to Buy Red Spot Whiskey Online TheSinglemaltshop

In the world of whisky, there are many brands and varieties. The most popular of these is Scotch whisky. This beverage is made from barley that has been malted and then fermented before being aged in oak casks for at least three years. However, this isn’t the only type of single malt whisky out there—there are many more! One example is Irish whiskey, which uses malted and unmalted barley (rather than just malted barley). Irish whiskeys are typically lighter than their Scottish counterparts and tend to have a more spicy flavor profile due to this difference in production methods.

red spot whiskey

Red Spot Whiskey is a single malt whiskey that has been aged in oak barrels for at least five years. It’s bottled at 40% ABV and comes in a bottle with a red spot on it, hence the name “Red Spot.”

The distiller for this whiskey is Glenfarclas, which was founded back in 1836 by Alexander Reid, who wanted to make whisky that would rival those made by John Grant at Glenfiddich (which we’ll get into later). The brand has remained family-run ever since then and is currently run by Alasdair Walker, who took over from his father David in 2015.
