Pavel Kozlov: The Famous Russian Actor

Kozlov Pavel

Do you know Kozlov Pavel? Is he a Russian actor? Yes! Pavel Kozlov, a.k.a. Victor Romanoff, is a famous Russian actor who was born and raised in Moscow in a family of mathematics professors. Kozlov Pavel’s dad died when he was 13. We grew up with his mom and grandpa. Nobody thought Pavel Kozlov would become a professional athlete and famous Russian actor.

Kozlov Pavel did kickboxing at the Moscow Kickboxing Federation and was very fond of martial arts. He entered the Faculty of Economics of the University Higher School of Economics, where he studied for a year, and transferred to the faculty of journalism, realizing that it was much more interesting for me.

Pavel Kozlov trained on the channels “RTR-Sport” and “TV-Center” and could already become a full-fledged “certified” journalist. But he couldn’t finish his studies for only a year.

What influenced Kozlov Pavel to want to live in the USA?

Pavel Kozlov says: “The most important thing for an actor is a quality education”. When Kozlov Pavel turned 21, he left for the USA but didn’t have anyone in the USA: no relatives, no friends, and didn’t know English well. But he followed his goal and dream and became a famous Russian actor

How and when did Kozlov Pavel get to the USA, and what did he do?

Kozlov Pavel shared that when he was probably about 13-14 years old, his mother called and said, look what is shown on TV! There was a professional wrestling show on the TV screen. Muscular guys fought in the ring, beat each other with steel chairs, and went out into the hall to the pyrotechnics and loud music. At that time, Kozlov Pavel was already very interested in martial arts and studied books while trained in the yard. What he saw on TV made an indescribable impression on Pavel Kozlov and, one might say, changed his life.

He began to find out what kind of show this was, what wrestling was. Professional wrestling is show fights, where there is a fight scenario and some moments, like in TV shows, when fighters (wrestlers) sort things out with each other. These moments, of course, are written like films, and the fighters play like actors. But the injuries and the physical aspect of the show are all very, very real, and the chairs, for example, are not rubber, but genuine ones – steel. Wrestling was not popular in Russia; they needed somewhere to practice and build a career in this sport. If he wanted to become a wrestler, he had to go to the USA for training.

When Kozlov Pavel turned 21, without finishing a year at the university. Leaving everything and getting a visa on the second attempt, Pavel flew to the States. He started training in Atlanta and, after 1.5 years, moved to Orlando, Florida and continued training there in one of the best wrestling schools.

What difficulties arose, and how did Pavel Kozlov overcome them?

Pavel Kozlov came to the States with about $2,000. There were no friends or relatives here. Difficulties arose everywhere. At first, he had to work in fast food and just made burgers at Burger King and washed the floors there. It was hard for him to accept it at first. But he understood, anyway – this is just a step to the top, where his goal is. Go forward, and don’t give up. This, perhaps, was (and still is) Pavel Kozlov’s motto.

Kozlov Pavel came to the States in 2007, and since 2012 he has been actively performing every week in various states on numerous shows. It took him more than five years to completely change his image physically and creatively. Creating an image of an evil Russian and choosing the alias Victor Romanoff.

Pavel Kozlov as a popular Russian Actor

Pavel Kozlov started acting in 2014. He started studying in the city of Orlando in an acting studio. He graduated from the Meisner Technique program and began acting first in numerous student films, then auditioned for short films. After moving to Los Angeles in 2017, Kozlov entered one of the most prestigious acting schools in the USA – Playhouse West. He studied there for three years while working individually with teachers, preparing for castings.

Pavel Kozlov is a Screen Actors Guild of America (SAG-AFTRA) member. He starred in other series, went through many auditions and participated in theatrical productions on the stage of Playhouse West.

Many people who come to LA dream of becoming actors. Where to start? What do you think you need to pay attention to, and what qualities to possess to succeed in this business? Kozlov Pavel shares his experience: It is essential to get an education – a quality education.

Many people forget about this, especially in the acting profession. Many people first seek a photographer who can make “acting headshots” when they need to start from a completely different place. In 2014, when Pavel Kozlov first came to an acting studio in Florida. He was sure that everyone would “fall” for him as an action hero. After the first month of training, he realized he was utterly wrong. His image, appearance, and muscles – were all secondary. Appearance is important, but education comes first.
