Guide to Dubai

Dubai Burj Khalifa Tour

In this Guide to Dubai, you will get good inspiration for which experiences you must not miss in Dubai..

Dubai is a city that certainly does not rest on its laurels. Constantly something new is happening and everything new is always bigger, wider, higher, better and more expensive than anywhere else in the world.

Burj Khalifa

Dubai Burj Khalifa Tour, with its 828 meters, 160 floors and 2,209 steps from floor to ceiling, is the world’s tallest man-made building.

A visit to Dubai Burj Khalifa Tour is a must visit. Start by seeing the exhibition which tells about the history of the building. Then take the trip up in the world’s fastest elevator and keep your hat and glasses on.

It only takes a few seconds to reach the top and the trip is not for the faint of heart, but do it anyway. The 360 degree panoramic view of the Persian Gulf is nothing short of amazing.

Remember your camera and capture the view of both the beach and the city.

I can recommend taking the trip up to the 124th & 125th floor at sunset – it’s a little more expensive, but absolutely a fantastic sight.

There are different Burj Khalifa tickets. The cheapest ticket ( affiliate link ) is a simple lift ride during the day.

Travel tip : I recommend that for a few extra hundred kroner, you buy a combi ticket ( affiliate link ) in which the visit to the 124th floor includes a 3-course menu on the 5th floor with a fantastic view of the sunset.

During dinner you can see the amazing Dubai Fountain show, which was one of my greatest experiences in Dubai.

Dubai Mall

Of course, you must also visit the world’s largest Mall. Combine it with visiting the Burj Khalifa and seeing the fountain. The 3 things are in the same place.

The Dubai Mall is in a class of its own and any other mall pales next to it.

Just to mention a few of the many experiences you can have in the Dubai mall can be mentioned:

The world’s largest underwater Zoo

The world’s largest (and only) indoor ski rink (with penguins)
Ice rinks
A souk
Access to Burj Khalifa
A myriad of well-known and unknown stores (e.g. 2 huge Apple stores)
A myriad of restaurants
Cinemas
Children’s area
etc.
Set aside at least one day to explore the Dubai Mall and the surrounding area.

Dubai Fountain

Dubai Fountain Show and Lake Ride is a spectacular, exciting and one of the experiences you can have in Dubai.

It is possible that you have seen fountains in both Las Vegas and lots of other places – Forget it!

Dubai makes it (again) taller, bigger, wider and just even more amazing than any other fountain you’ve seen!

The fountain is located at the foot of the Burj Khalifa and just outside the Dubai Mall.

Experience the fountain both in daylight and in the evening with a large light show. During the day you can see there from the ground, but as recommended under the Burj Khalifa, it is recommended to see the fountain from the Burj Khalifa ( affiliate link ) on the 5th floor.

Alternatively, you can book a table at restaurant Fridays in the Mall, from where you can also see the fountain.

Burj Al Arab

Burj Al Arab has appointed itself to be a 7 star hotel. Whether you agree or not, it is definitely one of Dubai’s greatest masterpieces.

Burj Al Arab is the world’s 4th highest hotel at no less than 321 m.

Designed to look like a billowing sail, the hotel is the most photographed design in the world.

The Burj Al Arab is the world’s best-known, most beautiful and most expensive hotel – and is consistently voted the world’s most luxurious hotel.

Despite the hotel’s height, it only consists of 28 floors. The hotel has 202 suites, of which the smallest is 169 m 2 and the largest is 780 m 2 .

Travel tips:

If you’re traveling on a budget, sit on the terrace of the hotel opposite. Have a drink as you sit and watch the scene of people and entertainment going on in front of the Burj al Arab.

Dubai Marina & Jumeirah Beach Residence Walk

Dubai Marina, with its many spectacular skyscrapers and luxurious yachts, is also definitely worth a visit.

The area is best known for its affluent residential area and for the Jumeirah Beach Residence Walk.

In the marina itself are beautiful cafes, bars, luxury hotels and some of the city’s best restaurants.
